To Laminate, or Not To Laminate
When I had my second vaccine at the Inova Center in Fairfax, Va, the usher in the room where I had to wait for any reaction was very animated and instructive. She explained the vaccine’s potential effects and what to do with the vaccination card.
She repeated the same comments the vaccinator had mentioned to me two minutes before; you’re going to feel tired, sore arm, and may have flu-like symptoms, but it’s all Ok.
The usher instructed us to make copies of the card to keep it in the passport and our wallet. She said,
“You should keep your original card in a safe place and do not laminate it.”
“Why, Why, Why?” People asked.
“If we have to call you for a booster in the future, we’ll have to write a new line on the card. Do not laminate the card.”
I had not thought about laminating my card. Her advice sounded reasonable to me.
I posted my selfie to Facebook showing the Vaccinated sticker as soon as she moved to the rows of chairs behind me. Immediately, my friends…
