Gardening can be a fun, educational, and eco-friendly activity for kids of all ages.
Last April, a gardening center near my home had several activities for children to celebrate Earth Day. On April 21, I attended a potting session for children.
I witnessed the kid’s and parents’ happy faces as they selected a plant and decorated their pot.
All walked happily to the car with their new plants.
Involving children in Eco-Friendly Gardening (EFG) activities is crucial for several reasons:
- To learn why it is necessary to protect the environment and the impact of their actions.
- Gardening provides practical experience and knowledge about biology, ecology, and sustainable practices.
- Physical activity in the garden promotes physical health.
- Growing and eating fresh produce supports good nutrition.
